CPD Courses
13th May 2010
CPD courses and training providers will be added to this site when they become available. It is intended that CPD (Continual Professional Development) of coaches is integrated into the ETTA Coach Licence in the future. This transition will not take place until sufficient courses are available and at a reasonable cost to coaches in England. Current CPD available to coaches includes:
Coach Education Workshops – workshops are held twice a year by each Regional Coach intended to offer coaches further information and guidance on table tennis specific coaching topic areas. For further information please contact your Regional Coach.
Essential First Aid Training – this is a pre-requisite of all UKCC courses and must be refreshed every 3 years. If a coach does not hold a valid certificate in Essential First Aid they will not be able to register with the ETTA/1st4Sport to undertake a higher level coaching qualification. The ETTA recommended course is the St John Ambulance ‘Essential First Aid – All Ages’. Although not an exhaustive list, other courses that are appropriate are as follows:
- St John Ambulance or British Red Cross First Aid at Work
- St John Ambulance or British Red Cross Emergency First Aid at Work
- St John Ambulance Sports First Aid
- St John Ambulance Activity First Aid
- British Red Cross First Aid for Appointed Persons
- British Red Cross Emergency Aid for Sport
- British Red Cross Save a Life Adult (both parts 1 and 2 must be completed)
- National Pool Lifeguard Qualification
Please note: If you wish to attend a first aid course other than any of those listed above, you are advised to provide evidence (eg. syllabus from the training provider) to the ETTA Coaching Department that as a minimum it covers the same course content as the St John Ambulance ‘Essential First Aid – All Ages’, otherwise this may not be accepted for UKCC / Licensing purposes.
